BPTO finishes the suspension of procedural deadlines

After the inactive period caused by Covid-19, Brazilian INPI finishes the suspension of procedural deadlines on June 1st.

The BPTO (INPI), resumes procedural deadlines on June 1st according to communication 2577 on the Industrial property Bulletin. The complete communication (in portuguese) can be read on this link.

Applicants that could not meet the deadlines during the suspension period, must justify the motive of non compliance electronically; the PTO will finally give a decision on the matter.

Likewise, teleworking is extended until June 15th, as a way of preventing the spread of Covid 19. Thus, the BPTO remains closed until further notice.

Here at H&A, we have met all safety protocols, encouraging teleworking since the beginning of the pandemic. Also, our team has been working with online filings in all procedures in order to keep an smooth chain of work avoiding backlogs and keeping our clients fully apprised in all their cases mantaining our high quality standards.
