On April 14th, 2020, the BRPTO published in the RPI number 161/2020 the rule extending the suspension of all deadlines, previously mentioned in the RPI no 120/2020, to April 30, 2020. The further suspension is part of the administrative measures to prevent the COVID-19 crises, which also includes temporary home office arrangements for its employees.

It is important to highlight:

• The suspension of deadlines until April 30 applies to all pending processes in INPI, regardless of their type.
• Any deadlines that were in progress before March 16 will only start to run again at the end of the suspension period.
• Any new deadlines arising during the suspension will only begin to run after the suspension period.
• It´s still possible to access the BRPTO´s services through the online system.
