EXPERIENCE
Isabel Álvarez has been a patent adviser in the Chemistry and Biotech department of H&A since 2010.
Her practice is mainly focused on biotech, pharma and food fields, wherein her main tasks involve drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as preparing patentability, infringement and freedom to operate reports, amongst others.
She is also in charge of Supplementary Protection Certificates prosecution in Spain and Portugal.
She is experienced in prior art searches, in patent and non-patent databases, thanks to her work at the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office before joining H&A.
She published her thesis and post-doctoral research work in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at national and international scientific meetings.
She is a qualified European Patent Attorney (EQE) since 2016 and she is a member of an Examination Committee for the European Qualifying Examination of the European Patent Office.
She is also a member of EPI (European Patent Agents Association) and IPO (Intellectual Property Owners Association).
